Support your community and shop local this weekend! Small Business Saturday is November 30th and three prominent beaches shopping centers are joining forces to entice our community to check out all that we have to offer. Stop by our three mile celebration for exciting promotions, exclusive peaks at new merchandise, and plenty of refreshments. Best of all, a portion of the proceeds from sales on Small Business Saturday will be donated to provide art camp scholarships that serve deserving children in our community.

Art in the News: The Bay of Lights is Unveiled in San Francisco

Last Tuesday March 5th, artist Leo Villareal and the non-profit Illuminate the Arts unveiled an enormous public art installation in San Francisco, entitled The Bay of Lights. This outdoor sculpture consists of 25,000 white LED lights, spanning 1.8 miles across and 500 feet in height. Luckily, part of the structure was already in place…The Bay of Lights was created to highlight and celebrate the San Francisco Bay Bridge, turning the structure into a “stunning fine arts experience” (according to the project’s website) every night from dusk until 2AM. Each light is individually manipulated by a computer program devised by Villareal to generate intricate moving patterns across the bridge’s western span. The art installation is projected to “dazzle” 50 million viewers during its two year existence.

September's issue of Arbus Magazine featured an article by Meredith Tousey entitled "A Stellar Next Chapter." In the article, Scott Riley, owner of Stellers Gallery San Marco, announces that he is commiting fulltime to being a traveling art consultant and artist's representative. This transition will prove to be an exciting time for both Riley and Hillary Tuttle, owner of Stellers Gallery at Ponte Vedra. The two native Jacksonvillians look forward to many more years of championing great artwork and talented artists.
